Designing an Experience, Not Just a Box:
The packaging design for the “Reality Check” STD test (a home delivered test-kit) wasn’t about creating just a shipping box: it was about designing an experience.
The test itself is about discovery: a journey into prevention and self-health. I wanted the unboxing to reflect that journey.
That’s why I designed a sleever with a circular cut-out. As you slide it open, the act of revealing mirrors the product’s purpose:
- First, the name “Reality Check” appears.
- Then, the rest of the message is unveiled.
To balance clarity with empathy, I used the brand’s existing gradient, bringing a sense of calm to what can be a stressful moment. The rest of the packaging relies on Every Health’s main colors, reinforcing a trusted, medical feel.
It turns a potentially stressful moment into a thoughtful interaction, transforming packaging into storytelling.
